President's Message >
The Manhattan Resident Manager's Club was founded in 1980, when I was in the 7th grade and had no thought of what I would be doing for a living when I grew up. Fast forward to 1987 when my father approached me about my plans for the summer. Not liking my response, he lined up an interview for me as a summer relief doorman at The Brevoort East. My Aunt Peggy was the first employee hired at The Brevoort but was planning on retiring. I went on the interview and was offered the position. I started the next day and continued to work there until 2003, when I was offered a Resident Manager position at The Armory. At The Brevoort East, I was introduced to many of the building vendors and kept in contact with them. One day I was asked by a vendor what I was doing the next Thursday night, to which I answered 'nothing'. I met him at the location he gave me, and I was introduced to the Manhattan Resident Manager's Club. I eagerly joined the following day. I have served as a Trustee and on its Dais as Secretary, Vice-President, and in 2009 I was elected President of this great Club. During my Presidency, I introduced Ball Games and Boat Trips to get together in a more casual settings. I have continued to stay on various committees and am dedicated to staying a part of this great Club. In March 2019, I was asked if I would considered coming back to serve again as President of the Club. I accepted the nomination and the rest is history.
Next year the Club will be celebrating its 40th anniversary! It is my intention to keep the tradition of this Club, as the great meeting place it is, for at least another 40 years.
On Behalf of the Dais and Trustees of the Manhattan Resident Manager's Club, I would like to welcome New Members and thank all the Regular Members, Affiliate Members and Associate Members for being A PART OF IT!
